About The Monolators
The Monolators have long been one of L.A.’s lost great bands. Led by the husband-and-wife team of singer-guitarist Eli Chartkoff and drummer Mary Chartkoff, the indie-garage tunesmiths have concocted alternately whimsical, silly, heartfelt and beautiful songs that marry the whimsical spirit of Jonathan Richman with punk, garage, and art rock. The Monolators rarely emerge from their Eastside lair these days, but when they do, it’s always a fantastic spectacle and circus onstage.

Eli Chartkoff
Lead Singer, Guitar, Bass (2002-2012)

Mary Chartkoff
Drums, sometimes saxaphone (2002-2012)
When Mary isn't playing the drums, she enjoys sewing and crafts. She also made this website.
Mike Dennis
Guitar (2002-2005)
Mike writes songs and plays with Gabrial Crowe in Red Random. You can listen here to these amazing songs. He is also an avid beach volleyball player.

Keys (2008-2011)
Along with being a talented music editor for TV, Jillinda also sings across America with The Damselles in the Tom Kenny & the Hi-Seas band. Jillinda and her hubby Joe Napolitano also write melodious, fun, poignant songs under the name Joe + Jillinda.

Ray Gurrola
Guitar (2009-2012)
Ray is a talented graphic designer who among many things designed the Imposter album artwork and poster for our release show. Along with writing songs for Maxwell Demon, he also and avid comic book and action figure connosiour.
