Bad news. We just learned that Chris, bass player for UK’s the Leeches, died unexpectedly earlier this week from a brain hemorrhage. We met him when we opened for the Leeches at Fais Do-Do back in April—the absolute sweetest, nicest guy you could possibly ask to meet, and probably the only bassist I’ll ever know with a degree in Latin and classical literature. He cracked me up at Spaceland when he described Henry James novels as “like death, but slower.” He was only 23.
